ALL TERRAIN ULTRA Jogging Shoes – for rehab and riding/driving
Like all of the Equine Fusion boots, the All Terrain Ultra Jogging Shoes feature the most comfortable sole on the market – the proven all terrain rubber sole – which not only provides outstanding cushioning and protection, but also promotes hoof health through natural stimulation. In testing, this sole has been proven to absorb 43% more shock when compared to a metal shoe and 26-30% compared to plastic-soled hoof boots. They beat the competition hands down!!
The Equine Fusion All Terrain Ultra horseshoe doubles as both a performance boot for riding/driving as well as a therapy boot for rehab. The super comfortable and breathable upper – which is easy to clean (throw in the washing machine and dryer) – along with their lightweight and secure fastening system means that you can be confident of them staying on in the pasture, even on a very active horse. They are amazing for rehabbing laminitic or navicular issues.
The toe has a large built-in break over, and the tread pattern ensures good grip on all surfaces.

The All Terrain Ultra shoes are made of a very soft, breathable and comfortable upper, that allows the joints to function without hindrance.
They are secured by velcro fastenings on either side of the boot plus two straps. One strap attaches to the base of the shoe on both sides of the back of the boot and goes around to the front where it is tightened with a grip clamp. The other strap goes around the top of the boot and is fastened through two metal rings on the outside of the shoe, which ensures a snug fit around the pastern. This fastening system gives a very secure and snug fit.
The centre of the sole has increased flexibility to provide maximum frog pressure and improve balance and break over, which helps rehabilitate hoof issues. They are designed to provide a good grip on most surfaces whilst still allowing the sliding phase of the hoof on tarmac/asphalt. For extra grip in off-road conditions, you can add studs. Read about the huge benefits of the rubber sole here.
The All Terrain sole is suited to all types of terrain and provides extra grip on slick mud and extra protection over rocks. They offer lots of cushioning for tender hooves without the need to add pads. They also ensure great durability for those who ride on abrasive terrain.
All of the Jogging Shoes have an ergonomically designed upper which means they fit closer to the pastern than their competitors. This has multiple benefits to the horse including increased comfort, more staying power and less interference to the joints. Each boot has a foam-lined, neoprene covered collar which prevents rubbing at the back of the boot.
The Equine Fusion All Terrain Ultra Jogging Shoe's upper is made of a very soft and breathable material and these boots are secured by both velcro and straps which gives them amazing staying power. This makes them a great boot for a horse in active turnout as well as riding/driving.

The following information will help you measure your horse's hooves in order to select the correct size boot.
Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the widest part of the frog. This universal measurement works for healthy, underrun and low heels.
Measure the width of the hoof at the widest point, making sure the ruler is parallel to the heels.
Repeat for each hoof that you want boots for as measurements often vary between hooves.
Taking measurements both before and after a trim is ideal. Alternatively, take them straight after a trim and then add 1/8" (4mm) for growth.
If the length is longer than the width first use the length measurement to select the corresponding size, then use the width measurement to decide if you need the regular or slim.
If the hoof is wider than it is long, then you will need to choose the size that corresponds to the width. For example, a hoof that is 12cm long and 12.5cm wide would need the size 13 boot.
Please contact us if you need help with the measurements.
To double-check your measurements you are welcome to send us a photo of each hoof with a measuring tape or ruler in place as shown in the photos below. Be sure to include the whole of the (clean) hoof in the shot and have the camera parallel to the hoof. Photos of the hoof on the ground taken from the front and side are very helpful too.
Can I use the All Terrain Ultras for endurance, jumping, dressage or driving?
Yes, this model is suitable for all disciplines.
What is the expected lifespan of the Equine Fusions?
This depends on the horse, terrain, use and mileage. Some horses are very heavy on boots which can mean more frequent replacements, however the Equine Fusions are a very high quality, well made boot with a durable rubber sole, which makes them last very well. When used as a turnout boot, the lifespan is generally between 6 months to 2 years with 1 year being the average. When used for riding/driving they generally last 1-2 years, although some customers get up to 7 years out of them!
Are the All Terrain Ultra boots left or right specific?
Yes, they are sold in pairs with a left and a right boot. If your horse has different sized hooves then we can split pairs for you. Contact us for information on how to do that.
Do I need to gradually break my horse into the Equine Fusions?
Unlike many other brands of boots, the Equine Fusions generally do not require a break in period. However, we always recommend a few short sessions to ensure the boots fit correctly before undertaking more extensive wear.
Can I turn my horse out wearing the All Terrain Ultras?
Yes, the All Terrain Ultras make an amazing turnout boot as they are breathable, soft and secure for turnout use. Thousands of customers use this model for their laminitic and navicular horses as the rubber soles make this brand the only boot on the market that actively helps promote healing.
Do I need boots on all four feet?
That is really personal preference. It depends on distance covered and type of terrain. Many owners just use them on the fronts but some horses prefer to be booted on the hinds too.
Do I require the same size Jogging Shoes on the front and rears?
Not necessarily. Always take hoof measurements of each hoof separately. Correct size selection and proper fitting are very important to ensure maximum boot performance. Many horses have smaller hind feet.
Where can I ride with the All Terrain Ultras?
The closure system keeps these boots secure even in the toughest of trail conditions including water crossings and deep mud so you can ride anywhere, on any terrain, at any speed, with 100% hoof protection.
Are the All Terrain Ultras comfortable for my horse?
The Equine Fusions are the most comfortable boot on the market as they feature a unique rubber sole. This is a big advantage over all other plastic-soled boots as it allows the sole of the boot to flex with both the ground and the hoof providing protection and stimulation, without the need for pads. The uppers are also very soft and ergonomically designed which prevents rubs even with extended use such as in rehab situations.
Can I use the All Terrain Ultras over metal shoes?
We do not recommend using the All Terrain Ultras over shoes. The Actives can be used if necessary, but it does void the warranty as metal shoes can cause damage to boots.
Can the All Terrain Ultras get waterlogged?
No, you can add drainage holes at the sides of the sole of the boot to prevent this.
Do the All Terrain Ultras offer good traction?
Yes, they offer superb traction on all surfaces including aggressive mountain terrain, creek beds, asphalt and loose gravel, and studs can be added for increased traction on ice or slick grass/mud.
How easy are the All Terrain Ultras to put on?
Due to the double fastening system, they do take a few seconds extra to put on when compared to the Actives, but that is a small price to pay for the added security that the straps provide.
Are the All Terrain Ultras comfortable for my horse?
Yes, provided the boots fit properly. All materials are flexible and soft against the pastern and the sole also flexes and absorbs shock with each step.
Are the All Terrain Ultras good for snow and ice?
Yes. Unlike plastic-soled boots, the rubber sole does not get hard in the cold weather so it provides excellent traction in snow. Studs are also available for sheet ice conditions.
Will sand and gravel get into the boot?
Sometimes a small amount of sand can get in, but generally not enough to cause harm.
